Located deep in the Hoosier National Forest is a small spot known to many as Browning Hill or Browning Mountain. This peak is known as Indiana's Stonehenge, and the rumors vary as to why.

This site has large slabs of sandstone in a seemingly purposeful formation at the top of the hill. Theories abound as to why. Many believe it was a sacred Native American site while others believe it is the remains of an ancient temple.

This hill is already creepy by nature, as it lords over the ghost town of Elkinsville. Even in the daytime, visitors insist this site, which by all accounts could be quite breathtaking, is rather creepy and haunting. You'll find the place a little too quiet for your liking and strange carvings can be found on the nearby rocks.

You can check out Indiana's Stonehenge for yourself. To get here, travel to the Story Inn (6404 IN-135, Nashville, IN 47448) and continue going straight on Elkinsville Road. The pavement will turn to gravel a few miles up and you'll reach a sign dedicated to the ghost town of Elkinsville. Straight ahead you'll see Browning Hill, standing 928 feet tall and can access it via Combs Road. Exact coordinates are 39°06′N 86°26′W . For more info, check out the below video.
