There’s a charming general store in Bridgeton, Indiana that has been around for more than 100 years, and not much has changed about it since it opened. Shopping at this living museum will give you a quick trip back in time that is like none other. Check it out:
One of the oldest stores in the state, Collom's General Store has been in business since 1879. Its longevity is due in part to it being an excellent place to catch a meal, experience live entertainment, and shop for groceries.
The store also serves dinners like chicken and noodles and other home-cooked country meals. Meals are often paired with desserts like cobblers, pies, and cakes.
This nostalgic general store is also known for its live entertainment. A band can be found playing here the second and fourth Friday nights of each month.
This small town is one of the best places to find covered bridges, old buildings, scenic back road drives, and other attractions that will take you back to a simpler time.
It is worth a trip from any corner of the state to visit this exquisite store that has not changed much in over 100 years. You'll take a trip back in time when you visit here.
Collom’s General Store is open Monday through Thursday as well as Saturday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., as well as Friday between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m., and you can get more details on its website or Facebook page.
