Lees At Avia has a long history that goes back to 1959. It began as a Chicagoland restaurant that was opened by Italian immigrants from the town of Marositca, Italy.
The first location was opened on the east side of Chicago and the second was opened for the original owner's son in Calumet City. This son, Tom, is who bought the joint in Munster in 2016 and made it a fast-food paradise.
While most take their food to go, this adorable little diner is a lovely place to enjoy your meal. It features cafe seating, vintage decor, and rustic furnishings.
You'll want to take your time eating if you choose to dine inside. The amazing smells of food frying and the charming atmosphere will make this place feel like home.
Everything about the food here scream freshness. Lee's At Avia does just a few things, but they do them all very well. If you really love this food, you can even have the restaurant cater an event.
Fried chicken and seafood like perch, walleye, shrimp, and frogs legs are the main attractions here. Buy fish by the pound and chicken by the bucket. You'll also find several different types of pasta as well as starters and appetizers like mozzarella sticks, garlic bread, and coleslaw.
Roast chicken is also available at this charming cafe.
