Believe it or not, there are a few famous stores in Indiana. The majority of them are old-school general stores and pharmacies, and the one we’re covering today comes with a great perk: its quirky name quickly made sure it would live in infamy forever, and honestly, we’re here for it. Visit Butt Drugs (seriously) in Indiana ASAP: it’s so much more than just a silly name!
In 1952, a man by the name of William "Blackie" Butt, R.Ph., opened his own little pharmacy in Corydon, Indiana.
In 1971, Thomas Butt, William's son, joined him behind the counter. Tom took over the business completely in 1997 and would later offer a position to his own daughter as his new business partner.

She approached the job with fresh eyes and new ideas, and an entirely different - and honestly, pretty hilarious - marketing campaign began.
Butt Drugs fully embraced the absurdity of the name and ran with it. This was wildly successful, and over time, they began adding lots more to the shop.
It has a to-die-for soda fountain and dessert counter, where you can get the freshest, sweetest, thickest milkshakes - sorry, "buttshakes" - you've ever had the pleasure of sipping on.
Those looking to score some coffee first thing in the morning can come and get some at the soda counter for just 35 cents.
You'll also find an array of candies, both old-school and new, which really takes you back to those good ol' days where you could run and get a gumball for five cents and pick up a malt while you were at it.
Butt Drugs also has plenty of spirits and libations, too, and that neck of the woods is aptly named "Butt Liquors."
Butt, we digress. This little shop is a one-of-a-kind local treasure, and we hope it's around for many generations to come. The sense of humor, combined with delicious ice creams, shakes, and snacks, as well as excellent customer service, make for a unique experience you just won't find anywhere else.
Butt Drugs has become so much of a phenomenon that it's also got a "buttique" now, where you can grab up all kinds of humorous merch with the Corydon legend's name on it.
At the time of this writing, Butt Drugs is open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is closed on Sundays, so make sure to plan accordingly!
