Tori Jane is a storm chaser, writer, photographer, and the village idiot - in that order. When she's not out and about dancing with the meanest storms on planet Earth for funsies she can be found wandering, shooting landscapes, writing, editing photos, and otherwise up to no good. Legend has it that she can also be occasionally spotted typing up short bios in the third person, but those rumors are unsubstantiated.
Hidden in the city of Indianapolis is an incredible structure that, upon first (and fifth) glance, absolutely looks like it was pulled right out of the pages of the Harry Potter series. There are many buildings that could theoretically fit this bill (like the incredible, crumbling City Methodist Church, in Gary), but this one is probably the single most spectacular example of the phenomenon. Interested in checking out an old building that looks like Hogwarts right here in Indiana (that isn’t abandoned yet)? Check out the Scottish Rite Cathedral, where you’ll probably feel like any moment now, Hagrid himself is going to come out and greet you.
So, where did the Sorting Hat put you? We're solidly in the Ravenclaw house ourselves.
The neo-Gothic architecture of this imposing and beautiful structure is enough to make anyone think they're on their way to the Great Hall instead of a Masonic Cathedral.
It is, to this day, the single largest building dedicated to Freemasonry in the United States.
The main tower is 212 feet tall and contains an impressive 54-bell carillon. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983, and today, you can do tours!

Every intricate detail in every square inch of this incredible castle is worthy of undivided attention and admiration.
The Chapel hosts weddings, events, parties, and more, so if you wanted to - and you have the available funds - you could absolutely throw a Hogwarts-themed party here.
It would be the Hogwarts-themed party to end all Hogwarts-themed parties, and as long as you invite us, it's all good.
Honestly, it doesn't really matter. This Cathedral is nothing short of jaw-dropping, and it's just epic enough to allow our imaginations to run wild in the best of ways.
For more information about the Cathedral and/or booking events there (or for one of their amazing tours!), be sure to check out the official website for all the important details.
