Tori Jane is a storm chaser, writer, photographer, and the village idiot - in that order. When she's not out and about dancing with the meanest storms on planet Earth for funsies she can be found wandering, shooting landscapes, writing, editing photos, and otherwise up to no good. Legend has it that she can also be occasionally spotted typing up short bios in the third person, but those rumors are unsubstantiated.
There’s something about the great outdoors in the Hoosier State that’s simply magical; it doesn’t even matter which season it is, there’s always something wonderful going on outside, be it a festival, a trail, a park, or anything else. An idyllic example is what could be the best hike near Indianapolis, Indiana that’s nothing short of a peaceful adventure. This seven-mile-long loop trail promises plenty of wonders – hike the whole thing or just part of it and experience it for yourself!
The Eagle Creek Red Trail (short loop) is a four-mile adventure that leads hikers to all the best amenities the park has to offer.
This is the short loop, which is just over four miles long and leads to features such as an equipment rental facility (which has a snack bar), a nature center, and more.

There's also a marina area in case you decide to grab a kayak and explore the lake.
The surrounding forest is, in some places, incredibly old, assumed to be more than 200-years-old -- making it truly legitimate old-growth woods right here in the Midwest.
Come out and see why Eagle Creek Park is considered one of the downright best in the entire Hoosier State!
