Tori Jane is a storm chaser, writer, photographer, and the village idiot - in that order. When she's not out and about dancing with the meanest storms on planet Earth for funsies she can be found wandering, shooting landscapes, writing, editing photos, and otherwise up to no good. Legend has it that she can also be occasionally spotted typing up short bios in the third person, but those rumors are unsubstantiated.
Southwestern Indiana has all sorts of things to be proud of, but there’s one little town in particular that we think takes the cake for the best part of SW IN. It’s a little town where holidays are all the rage, and the kind folks who live there go all out for Halloween (among other things). Once you learn what town it is, though, you’ll probably be a little confused, but bear with us – we have such sights to show you. Head to Santa Claus, Indiana – yes, Santa Claus – for the ultimate Halloween experience.
Santa Claus, Indiana, is well known as a Christmas town.
But the truth is, it's so much more than that! Santa Claus is one of those delightful little towns with a strong sense of community, and boy, do the folks here LOVE them some holidays... especially spooky season.
Every autumn, as the leaves begin to change and the days grow shorter, Santa Claus transforms into an autumnal wonderland.
Everywhere you turn, there will be family-friendly fall fun and shenanigans. There's an endless list of stuff going on all the way through fall - so much that you'll probably want to visit twice (or more).

During the months of September and October, Santa Claus has Halloween Weekends, where there are bonfire ghost stories, scary movies, and trick-or-treating galore, among other things.
Every nook and cranny of town is decorated for the season through and through, and you'll feel as if you've stepped into a fun Halloween movie on the Disney channel for a while.
While you're here, you can't miss a trip to Holiday World, one of the best amusement parks in Indiana, which has an entire Halloween World wing!
