During this pregnancy, one thing I have done is crave fried potatoes like crazy. I’m sure my husband is very sick of the number of times I’ve sent him to the store for a bag of frozen fries or a specific restaurant for an order of fries. During my research, I noticed there really aren’t any good lists of where to get the best fries in Indiana. It seems like a tragedy that this kind of list does not exist! So, I decided to create one. Here are 10 restaurants in Indiana that have fries so good you can’t handle it!
Brugge Brasserie is located at 1011 Westfield Blvd in Indianapolis. The reason this burger joint is making this list is because in every single list of top French fries in the United States ranking, this one always manages to make the cut. It's the classic Belgium fries that you're coming here to try. Don't forget to try some of their incredible dipping sauces while you're at it.
Ziffle’s is located at 6340 E State Blvd, Fort Wayne. I’ve read tons of reviews on this place and they all agree it has some incredible fries. Possibly even the best fries in Fort Wayne. It's worth noting this place is known for having some of the best ribs in the state. You have to try their famous homemade barbeque sauce while you're enjoying those fries! Customers also agree the fries taste great smothered in cheese.
Yes, I am including another eatery located in Indianapolis. Located at 620 NE Street, Indianapolis to be specific. This eatery has also made several lists for having the best fries in the entire state. Apparently, they cook their fries in duck fat and that makes them taste incredible. Who knew?
This burger joint is located at the Chauncey Hill Mall, 134 W State Street in West Lafayette. It's a locally owned and operated eatery. They’ve been serving Chicago style favorites for nearly 8 years now. Their waffle style fries are fantastic, but it's the funnel cake fries that're going to make your mouth water and your taste buds explode.
I decided to include DT Kirby’s for a few different reasons. It's a pretty unique and awesome place. They take a unique spin on fries. You get a deep fried hot dog or a burger with a side of fries right? Well, kind of. You can get deep fried pickle chips, homemade chips, deep fried mushrooms, irregular fries (which are just super thin fries that look more like chips), and "friggin fries". Yes, they do call them that.
Make sure you take a bathroom break while you're there. I know that sounds weird, but just check out the pictures. They have what looks like porta-potties. But, you go through the door and walk into an entire bathroom. How cool! I never thought a place would grab my attention because of how neat their bathrooms are. You can find this nifty establishment at 605 Main Street in Lafayette.
The Pine Room Tavern is located at 51 E Chestnut Street in Nashville. Their steak fries are great, but it's the Rosemary garlic fries that keep the people coming back for more. Their pot roast Rueben and turkey burgers are great too! Are you hungry yet? I know I am!
Burgerhaus is located at 3304 Calumet Avenue in Valparaiso. This burger joint has incredible garlic parmesan fries that are to die for. While fried pickles are not technically fries, they're close enough; and you are going to be hard pressed to find better fried pickles than the ones offered here! It's worth mentioning there's also a Burgerhaus in Indianapolis as well.
This eatery is located at 1084 Linwood Avenue in Valparaiso. They are known for being one of the best places to grab a burger in Valparaiso. As far as fries go, you can choose between the garlic potato wedges or the sweet potato fries. Both of which are incredible! If you have a hard time choosing, just get both. You won’t regret it!
Major Munch is located at 101 NW 1st St, Suite 100 in Evansville. It's a great place to go if you are looking for some waffle fries. They are also known for having pretty incredible fish sandwiches. I highly recommend grabbing a bite if you get the major munchies! Get it?
This pub is located at 236 S Michigan Street in South Bend. Their burgers are incredible and so are their fries. Many of the customers agree their fries are the perfect size and shape for scooping ketchup and what good would waffle fries be without dipping them in some ketchup? Yum!
Obviously, I’m just one person. Just because I think these restaurants in Indiana have fries so good you can’t handle it, doesn’t mean you’re going to feel the same way. Please, feel free to tell me in the comments where you like getting your fried potatoes. And yes, I’m looking for suggestions other than fast food chains.
