Gasthof Amish Village is a 92-acre farmland oasis where you can stay the night. Enjoy delicious, homemade foods, comfortable amenities, and events throughout the year.
Opened as a restaurant in 1988 by the descendent of an Old Order Amish family, the point of this unique village is to preserve Amish heritage and share it with the public. The hotel was added in 1997 and there is also a 25-acre lake.
The most popular thing to do here is go shopping. There is an antique store and two gift shops that sell all Amish-made or grown goods. Find candles, quilts, rugs, jewelry, soaps and lotions, toys, greeting cards, and many more handmade items.
Each store is open daily. Though hours vary slightly, most are open between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Locals also love to stop by for the bakery, which is known for its homemade fried pies, bread, noodles, cakes, and cookies. Everything is made daily from traditional Amish recipes that have been perfected with time.
The bakery is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

At the restaurant, guests enjoy a large authentic Amish buffet that is simply unforgettable. You'll be seated in a rustic dining area that was constructed by Amish carpenters while enjoying classics like chicken and dumplings, fried chicken, baked ham, and roast beef.
The restaurant is open daily. Hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Guests who wish to make a full weekend of this amazing place will enjoy the Gasthof Village Inn, which has 82 rooms and modern amenities like a fridge, coffee pot, and hair dryer. There is also an outdoor pool available during the summer.
Guests also receive breakfast and easy access to all the wonderful things to do in the village. Room rates start around $77 per night for a room with either two queen/double beds or one king bed. There are also a couple of larger rooms with sitting areas that cost about $121 per night.
There is always something happening at Gasthof Amish Village. There are events to celebrate most holidays and seasons as well as a flea market that runs every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday between March 31 and November 3.
Guests can also arrange to take a tour of the Southern Indiana Amish community. This two-hour educational tour takes you past other Amish stores and homes as well as an Amish schoolhouse, fields, and livestock.
