When she's not out and about dancing with the meanest storms on planet Earth for funsies she can be found wandering, shooting landscapes, writing, editing photos, and otherwise up to no good. Legend has it that she can also be occasionally spotted typing up short bios in the third person, but those rumors are unsubstantiated.
When it comes to all the greatest hidden gem restaurants in Indiana, it’s pretty tough to list every last one (especially in a brief article). There are some, however, that 100% deserve a little extra recognition; some of these amazingly unique places to eat in Indiana go above and beyond to deliver an experience rather than just some food. Take, for example, the gorgeous Fowler House Mansion in Lafayette; it’s more than just a mansion. It’s a whole dining experience – one you won’t forget.
As I alluded to, the Fowler House Mansion is a whole thing - SO much more than just a pretty place to grab a bite.
One of the single most beautiful examples of Gothic architecture in the United States, this utterly jaw-dropping mansion was built in 1852 for the Fowler family. In 1917, the grandson of Mr. Fowler had the place expanded and renovated.
By 1941, the Fowlers' children were gone to homes and families of their own, and they decided they no longer needed the space - so it was sold to the Tippecanoe County Historical Association.
The home would be sold one more time - to its current owners, The 1852 Foundation - and today, it's been carefully preserved and re-gifted back to the people of Indiana, who find this enchanting place casts a spell on them.

It is, after all, incredibly beautiful; you can take a tour of the home before or after dinner. It's a fascinating intersection of old-school elegance and modern dining.
Want something more on the fancy side? Take your pick of steaks, chops, incredible seafood, to-die-for drinks, and so much more. I strongly suspect this might become your new fave date night spot.
Sit indoors. Sit outdoors. It doesn't matter - the views are astonishing all the same.
It's the combination of old-world elegance and modern-life amenities that makes this particular restaurant one of the best places to eat in Indiana. It's unique, the menu is fabulous, and the service is impeccable - it's a perfect 10.
So sidle up, grab a cocktail, and get ready for an amazing all-around experience.
