While theme parks are great fun in general, sometimes they’re a mixed bag for the kids as there are many rides they can’t go on, and alcohol is sold making them potentially inappropriate for children. However, Pirate’s Cove Children’s Theme Park in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, is all about the kids – and it won’t plunder your wallet! Let’s explore the most kid-friendly theme park in Illinois.
Pete's Pirate Ship at the entrance to the park isn't just for show. The inside is the Galley Activity Area, and there is seating on the top deck where you can enjoy your food and get a good view of the whole park.
The Swashbuckler Wharf Fun Stage hosts musicians, storytellers, jugglers, and entertainment of all kinds. There are occasional costume contests where kids can take to the stage as their favorite characters.
The Safari Express will take passengers through a cave full of stuffed safari animals, and kids will have a chance to ring the bell. Parents can ride along too!
Kids will love to paddle around in the Barnacle Bay Boats and knock about like bumper cars. Though the water is quite shallow, lifeguards are on hand, just in case.
As you can see on the map, there is enough fun at the park to fill up an entire day with merriment and joy, including a slide, carousel, bouncy castle, playground, and more. The entire family will have a blast!
Pirate’s Cove Children’s Theme Park is intended for children aged 2 to 9 and is open during the summer. You can buy concessions there, and you are also free to bring your own picnic lunch. You can rent out the entire park for events, church groups, campouts, and more. Arrrrr you going to come here next summer?
