Miller Park Zoo in central Illinois is a lesser-known yet fabulous place to see lots of animals from around the world.
There are several different exhibits to explore including a Tropical America Rainforest, the ZooLab, the Katthoefer Animal Building, a Wallaby WalkAbout, the Children's Zoo, and the Animals of Asia.
Other animals you are likely to see at this underrated zoo include flamingos, red pandas, lemurs, a Galapagos tortoise, bald eagles, a Pallas' cat, and red wolves.
Parking is free at this lovely attraction while admission for adults is about $7. Senior citizens and active military members may enter for about $6 and children between the ages of 3 and 12 may enter for $5. Admission is free for those below the age of 3.
