Seeing The Massive Snow Sculptures In Rockford, Illinois Will Be Your Favorite Winter Memory
Since 1987, Rockford has hosted the Illinois Snow Sculpting Competition where teams from around the state compete for a spot at the U.S. Nationals Snow Sculpting Competition. This winter, from January 20 to 23, 2021, families are invited to watch teams sculpt piles of snow into massive works of frozen art. This event will surely be a highlight.

State eams cannot have more than three members while high school teams can have up to four members plus an adult to supervise.

Teams can only use snow, ice, and water. Dyes to color the snow and power tools are not allowed.

The public can cast votes for the People's Choice category from 8:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. Winners are announced at the awards ceremony scheduled at 1 a.m.
