If you are familiar with the town of Metropolis, then you know it’s home to the famous DC Comics superhero Superman. But this is more than just Superman’s hometown. Whether or not you are here to see all things related to the superhero, Metropolis has plenty more to offer including boutiques, delicious restaurants, and the lovely Sissy’s – A Sweet Shoppe located downtown.
Sissy's - A Sweet Shoppe is located on Market Street just one block away from the Superman Statue. Whether you come for coffee, pastries, or lunch items, anything you get here is sure to be excellent.
If you need a coffee fix, you're in luck when you come to Sissy's! They serve up a delicious medium-roast Honduran blend. Order just a regular cup of coffee or dress it up with some flavored syrups. Or you can get one of the specialty or cold coffee drinks. What a great way to start the day!
For lunch, drop by Sissy's for a sandwich, wrap, soup, or salad. Selections change weekly so be prepared to get something different every time you go. Depending on the menu when you visit, you may be able to order a Muffaletta, Italian wrap, pizza panini, chicken salad on a croissant, pasta salad, etc.
If you're lucky enough to visit Sissy's on a day when fruit pizza (pictured here) is available, you need to get one! But any of the other pastry selections like cupcakes, cookies, pie, bread pudding (available on Tuesdays), cookies, and other treats are all fresh-baked and guaranteed to satisfy your sweet tooth.
The chocolate lasagna is another customer favorite with layers of cream and chocolate. Try one of those or the Nutter Butter lasagna if available during your visit. Delicious!
