Opened in 2008, Jolane's Cafe in Glenview is a stunning restaurant great for dates and other special occasions. It is named for a woman who was known for her courageousness and wunderlust.
When a child, Jölane immigrated to America in 1913 from a small town on the border of Austria and Hungary. She became one of the first women to drive in the 1920s. She also saved her money working through school and started a business with her partner and husband afterwards that was quite successful.
Dining hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, though on Sunday, the restaurant closes an hour earlier. Both reservations and walk-ins are welcome and both take-out and catering are available.
Patrons enjoy fabulous views of nature while they eat here. Whether dining indoors or outside, you'll marvel at trees and bushes, and possibly the occasional critter wandering through.

The restaurant is known for its home-style cooking, utilizing fresh, high-quality ingredients from local farmers and other suppliers. The cuisine is modern with a European flare inspired by classic dishes born abroad.

Soups and salads are available during lunch as well. For weekend brunch, omelets, french toast, crepes, and more upscale items like lobster scramble and quiche are offered.
Don't forget dessert. Drinks include tea, coffee, milkshakes, hot chocolate, lattes, espressos, and more. Visitors also find it hard to resist a homemade cookie skillet, apple strudel, and Black Forest Cake, to name a few.
