I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
If you’re looking for a friendly neighborhood eatery with good food and a sense of community, head to Daddio’s Diner in Batavia. Voted both the “#1 Diner in Fox Valley” and the “Best Family Restaurant” in Kane County, this retro diner makes all who walk through its doors feel right at home.
Located in downtown Batavia, Daddio's Diner is a wonderful neighborhood eatery with a retro vibe and food so good you'll want to come back every day.
The interior is decorated with nostalgic items and vintage memorabilia from past decades. You'll have fun looking at all the things, some of which may bring you right back to your childhood.
Known for its classic diner fare and comfort food, you'll find a wide variety of options on the breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus. Even the pickiest of eaters will find something they'll enjoy here.
If you love breakfast, you're in luck because Daddio's diner serves breakfast all day! Order a cup of coffee in a mismatched coffee mug and choose from a variety of menu items like an egg dish, skillet, omelette, breakfast panini, and so much more.
If you're lucky, you'll be able to order a special as decadent as this cannoli stuffed French toast. It may be a breakfast item but it tastes more like dessert.
For lunch and dinner, you'll find a variety of soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches, and desserts. Pictured here is the Grilled Chicken Pesto Panini with chicken, pesto, red peppers, and mozzarella cheese between slices of grilled Italian bread. Delicious!
Aside from the fun, welcoming atmosphere and delicious food, Daddio's Diner has a Pay It Forward Program. Customers who are feeling generous and have some extra money to spare can purchase a "cup of kindness ticket" in the amount of $2.50, $5, or $10.
These tickets go up on the diner's community board for someone who may be down on their luck or need a little extra help to redeem for a cup of coffee or a meal. If there are unredeemed tickets left at the end of the year, the diner donates the ticket money to a local food pantry. Daddio's Diner certainly seems to have a wonderful sense of community.
