Carve For The Carillon In Springfield, Illinois Has Free Pumpkin Carving

If pumpkin carving is your favorite part of fall, then there is an event in Springfield, Illinois that will be right up your alley. Don’t miss a chance to help carve one of the largest Jack-O-Lantern displays in the state. Check it out:

Taking place Saturday and Sunday, October 12-13, 2019, the 15th annual Carve for the Carillon event will take place at Washington Park in southern Illinois beneath tents surrounding the Thomas Rees Memorial Carillon tower.

This family-friendly event is free for all to attend and all 2,000+ pumpkins are provided. Guests can bring their favorite tools to scoop and carve as many pumpkins into Jack-O-Lanterns as they like.

This two-day pumpkin carving event helps the town prepare for its Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular, which takes place the following weekend.

Kids of all ages are encouraged to attend. It doesn't matter if you're a novice or a pro at pumpkin carving when it comes to participating in this community event.

Once each pumpkin is carved, it is to be placed around the Thomas Rees Memorial Carillon tower for the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular.

Taking place October 18-19, 2019, the second event features 2,000 locally carved pumpkins glowing all around the Carillon.

If you participated in the pumpkin carving, you'll definitely want to stop by and see if you can spot your creation, otherwise, it is still fun to come out and see this marvelous spectacle of so many gourds.
