Ope! From the rural cornfields of DeKalb County, Linze is an Illinois native and true Midwestern gal who can make a mean bonfire and whip up a perfect marshmallow salad. Since 2014, her bylines and photography have appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Magazine, Chicago Sun-Times, and Block Club Chicago/DNAinfo Chicago, Only in Your State, and more. She has interviewed Dolly Parton, written about beloved diners along historic Route 66, visited the last Rainforest Cafe in the Illinois, and reviewed luxurious English manor-inspired hotels. Whether it's writing about a local gem or world-renowned establishment, Linze brings a heartwarming and historical perspective to each story, using facts, wit, and personal experience to impress upon readers the importance of culture, food, travel, and all things local. Her favorite destinations in Illinois include Starved Rock State Park, Chicago's Edgewater neighborhood, the charming small town of Sycamore, and historic Rosehill Cemetery. When she's not writing or photographing, Linze enjoys gardening, spending time with her husband and pets, cooking, baking, and grilling, and relaxing with trashy TV.

For some, spending the night in the great outdoors is an opportunity for adventure, a chance to become one with nature in the simplest of terms. But for others, the thought of trading a comfy bed for a sleeping bag isn’t exactly ideal. Still, just because you prefer a few more comforts doesn’t mean you don’t still want to spend a night under the stars cozied up by a fire. That’s where glamping comes in — the marriage of glamour and camping. And the luxury glamping in Tonica, Illinois is an experience that’s hard to beat.
Camp Aramoni, 818 N. 2219 Road, is a boutique luxury glampground located just under 2 hours from Chicago in Tonica, Illinois.
The high-end campground offers 11 safari-style tented suites, each with decor inspired by native Illinois wildflowers. Units come with heat and air conditioning, a mini-fridge, bathroom, luxury linens, Wi-Fi, and a fire pit with free firewood.
Pets are the one accessory you'll have to leave at home, though. Families with children are also encouraged to stay in specific tents (and with several bodies of water that lack lifeguards, this could be a good adults-only getaway option!).

Each tent can hold between two and six people, with a total capacity of 48 people on the 96-acre campground. Room rates range from $450 per night on weekdays or $550 per night on weekends — though that also includes your breakfast, dinner, nightly s'mores, and firewood for your pit.
Your stay also includes access to the camp's private hiking trails, ponds, and shoreline, as well as access to board games, lawn games, and bicycles for exploring. The glamping season runs from April to November.

A major plus is the private en-suite bathroom with a shower, which can often be an unpleasant experience at traditional campsites.
The atmosphere is rustic, yet elevated with attention to detail at every corner. Outside, there is a patio with seating and a retro Airstream camper outfitted into a modern bar.
There are nightly s'mores and opportunities to roast your own weenies over a fire — complete with all the toppings you'd need to make the perfect campfire hotdog.
The main restaurant at the camp is called The Barn, and it serves a continental buffet-style breakfast, as well as dinner each night. There are also charcuterie boards, luxury picnic experiences, candy and snacks, and coffee and alcoholic beverages available separately throughout the grounds.
One venue is the Bricks & Stones building, which is a 150-year-old structure dating all the way back to the 1870s.
