I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
We all deserve some time away, but it’s even better when a getaway can help us reconnect with nature. Nature has a way of calming and relaxing the mind and body, allowing us to slow down from our busy lives for just a little bit. In the heart of the prairie countryside and at the gateway of the Rock River Valley, Lincoln Way provides the perfect destination for those seeking rest and relaxation.
Open since 2015, Lincoln Way: A Destination Inn has been delighting guests with its luxurious and eco-friendly accommodations. Located in Franklin Grove in the countryside of northwestern Illinois, the inn occupies a large house that was built in 1912.
A stay here means you'll be surrounded by nature. Lincoln Way is close to golf courses, five state parks, and the 3,800 acres of the Nature Conservancy's Nachusa Grasslands, a restored prairie where you can see bison roam.
The historic house has six rooms, which includes three suites, exquisitely decorated with both modern and antique pieces that create a rustic yet elegant feel. Individual rooms may be booked or you can rent the entire house if you have a larger group.
The first floor has a dining room, porch, and an outdoor patio surrounded by gardens with native plants. Grab a glass of wine and sit by the fireplace outside to end your day.
There is also a separate building on the propety, the Carriage House, that provides a venue for small events and retreats.
Start off your morning with a delicious homemade breakfast served either at the counter, in the dining room, at the outdoor garden patio, or in your room. Guests rave about the breakafast just as much as their stay at the inn.
Are you ready for your next relaxing getaway? To book your stay at Lincoln Way Inn Bed and Breakfast in Illinois, visit the website and give the inn a follow on Facebook.
