Krape Park in northern Illinois is a multi-purpose park that has something for everyone. Whether you like adventure, relaxing views, or something in between, you'll certainly find it here.
One of the most astounding attractions is the 44-foot high waterfall that guests can drive right up to. Limestone rock bluffs and trees surround this jungle-like falls.
Fun attractions and activities include a carousel, mini-golf, swan boat rentals, tennis courts, a baseball diamond, playgrounds, and many other fun things to do for all ages.
There is also an amphitheater for live performances. Bands often enjoy putting on shows in this shell-shaped structure as no special equipment is needed.
In addition to the waterfall, other fun natural attractions include trails for hiking. During winter, the pond freezes over and is available for ice skating and the hills are perfect for sledding.
Krape Park is open daily between 6 a.m. and 10:30 p.m., and you can get more details on the Freeport Park District website. If you’ve ever been to this multi-purpose park, we’d love to hear from you. Please share your experiences and photos with us below in the comments.
