Expect to see river otters, turtles, plenty of fish, and maybe even a mink or two! A mink breeder along the river shut down a few years ago and released the animals into the wild, so you may run into one of these small mammals!

If you're a beginner, they offer rentals at the more placid Whalon Lake. The lake is calm and quiet, and a great place to stand up paddle or kayak for the first time.
