In business since 1981, The Dairy Barn in east-central Illinois is open daily for guests to enjoy its homemade dairy treats.
It's a local favorite that is available April 1 through mid-September each year. People come from near and far to enjoy the sweet treats that come out of this little stand.
The locally owned and operated store is known for its fun ice cream flavors. It features a new unique flavor each week that keeps the biggest fans returning regularly.
It's not uncommon to see a line of hungry customers looking for something cold to eat on the hottest days of the summer. This place has everything from slushies to floats to sundaes to shakes to cool you down.
Hand-dipped ice cream flavors include peanut butter cup, strawberry, butter pecan, lemon, mint chocolate chip, and brownies and cream. The soft serve comes in vanilla, chocolate, and swirl.
Guests can also get savory items like hot dogs, Polish sausage, corn dogs, BBQ, and snacks like chips. A late lunch or dinner is always served hot and ready here.
