I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
Family-owned and operated Lucas Brothers’ Honker Hill Winery is located in rural Illinois on 90 acres of land. The vineyard was established in 2004 and the winery was opened for the public to enjoy in 2009. It’s a laid-back place where you can come to relax as you sip a glass of wine while looking out over the rolling hills of the property. And if you love listening to live music, this is the place for you!
Honker Hill Winery is a fantastic stop along the famed Shawnee Hills Wine Trail. It is surrounded by the Shawnee National Forest and sits on the highest point in Williamson County.
For those who don't enjoy wine, sangria and beer are also available. Sangria is made in-house using wine from the vineyard mixed with fruit juices and is a popular drink to order year-round. The Hot Honker Hill Hooch, a hot wine, is popular during the colder months.
Aside from the delicious wines and sangrias, music is a big draw to Honker Hill Winery. You can enjoy songs by some of your favorite local bands and solo artists here while sipping a glass of your favorite wine or sangria.
You are guaranteed beautiful views if you choose to sit outside on the patio which has a fireplace and event space. Live music is often played out here in the warmer months, making it an enjoyable outdoor venue.
Whether you decide to sit indoors or outdoors on the scenic patio, you can't beat the relaxing atmosphere, drinks, and music that will make you want to come back again and again.
