The local community pool is great and all, but to make you summer truly epic, you need to check out this incredible Illinois water park. With views of the Mississippi River plus a plethora of rides and other water attractions, you won’t believe that this hidden water park is right here in Illinois.
Summers are hot here, and the next time it reaches scorching temperatures, you’re going to want a nice place to cool off. Check out the best place to soak up water or sun:
Southern Illinois is home to one of the best water parks in the state, but not everyone knows about Raging Rivers WaterPark in Grafton.
It sits along the Mississippi River just east of Pere Marquette State Park and the confluence of the Mississippi and Illinois rivers. The views around this place will blow you away as you float down the lazy river.
Of course, the more youthful or adventurous bunch will be amazed by the splash zones and play areas. Watch out if you are near the dump bucket - it could go anytime.
Those adventure seekers will be immediately drawn to this gigantic water slide which spans a good deal of the park. You won't know where all the curves and turns are taking you until you land with a splash at the bottom.
When it's time to get back to relaxing though, the wave pool is your best friend. You can sit back and sun bathe while admiring the greatest river in America or feel the motion of the ocean whenever the waves kick on in the pool.
The very youthful will never want to leave Itty Bitty Surf City for all the aquatic fun there is to have. Water shoots up at various places around the shallow pool as more rains down from the mushroom cap, and there are smaller slides and other toys.
Raging Rivers also has many food and drink vendors serving anything from pizza to Mexican food to ice cream, so you can make a whole day of this water park. You can also check out their Port of Call gift shop which has all your beach and poolside needs.
