There’s a celebration that takes place in Illinois that you probably don’t know about unless you’re an enthusiast in this unique subject. Our diverse state is home to an annual hearse festival that features these well-recognized cars and other grim things.
This is the perfect weekend of fun for anyone with an affinity for the creepy and grotesque. Keep reading for dates and locations.
You may soon see them flooding into town if you're a Lombard local. The Hardcore Hearse Club's Haunted Hearse Show Weekend takes place October 13-15, 2017 and is the largest gathering of hearses in the state.
The event is held each year by the Hardcore Hearse Club, which was formed in 2013 by a group of people who own their own hearses for spectacle, admiring them for their craftsmanship.
The main event of the weekend is the Hearse Show, which is a line up down the street of these unique cars. You'll see all styles and designs, including both vintage and modern looks as well as traditional and more extraordinary decors.
In addition to the hearse festival, other activities include a Zombie Prom and Trunk or Treat, which some locals look forward to more than the car show.
There are many other haunted vehicles you'll never forget too. You may even meet the grim reaper and other characters that will keep you up at night for weeks afterward.
Halloween lovers now have a new favorite October activity. It lasts three days and takes place at Brauerhouse which is located at 1000 N Rohlwing Road in Lombard.
