I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
Have you ever wanted to soar through the trees or swing on a rope just like Tarzan? Well, you can have your chance to do just that with Go Ape Zipline and Adventure Park located at Bemis Woods Forest Preserves in Western Springs. This high-flying adventure is exhilarating and fun for the entire family!
Bemis Woods Forest Preserves is a 480-acre park with trails, a canoe launch, and, most notably, a Go Ape Zipline & Adventure Park. It is quite a picturesque location to swing through the trees.
Go Ape is perfect for those who are seeking a high-flying adventure filled with adrenaline-pumping fun! With ziplines and several obstacles and ropes courses, you can easily spend an entire afternoon here.
The longest zipline is 553 feet and the highest platform is 43 feet. This course will take a few hours to complete, has a minimum age of 10 years, and a cost of $59.95 per person over 16 and $39.95 for ages 10-15.
The second option, Treetop Journey, is a shorter course that will take about an hour and is good for all ages with tamer ziplines and 21 obstacles.
This activity was added for the 2021 season. Learn to throw axes at one of four targets set up in the park. The minimum age is 16 and gloves and face coverings must be worn (you may bring your own or buy from Go Ape). The cost is $17.95 per person for an hour-long session.
Which Go Ape aerial adventure course will you choose? Whatever you decide, you are sure to have some high-flying fun through the treetops!
