Taking place February 9, 2018, the Argenta IceFest is a central Illinois winter celebration that is all about ice sculptures. Food, games, demonstrations, and displays will be available between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.
This is the third year for this annual, small town fest. One of the main events this year will be the Ice Breaker Challenge, which is an endurance test that requires pulling, lifting, carrying, and running. Sign up in teams of two.
If you're excited for the glowing ice sculptures, you'll want to stay for the lighting ceremony at dusk. Experience each carving in a whole new way once the lights come up.
This free event is guaranteed to give you a good reason to get out of the house and enjoy winter in all its glory. This beautiful season is made even more spectacular with lights and ice sculptures.
Other attractions include the food and craft vendors at the Community Center, a people's choice chili cook-off between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at Bargenta, and wine tastings.
