Station 343 is a beautiful eatery opened by locals Pete and Joy Meister in 2012. It is located just off Route 66 in a historical building in downtown Dwight, which is a tiny town with a population of about 4,000 people.
The building was built in 1881 and still has its original brick walls, wood floors, and rafters. The interior is rustic with reclaimed wood and other upcycled decor. There is even a vintage 1917 Seagrave fire truck on-site that was once used by the Pontiac Illinois Fire Department.
This gorgeous historical building has been home to several other business over the past century before becoming a firehouse-themed restaurant, including a clothing store and a general store.
