8 Places You Recognize From Illinois That Showed Up In Famous Movies
Nothing is cooler to me, when I’m watching a movie, to be like “I know exactly where that is!” It seems like you have an inside scoop that no one else has. Illinois is often targeted for filming movies. Here are 8 Illinois places you might recognize from famous movies:

Road to Perdition was an awesome movie, set in Chicago. The mobsters pull into the driveway of this home before the wake scene. This was the home of 30th U.S. Vice President Charles Dawes from 1909 to 1951.

Who doesn't remember this scene in Ferris Bueller's Day Off? See the windows for yourself. They have somewhat recently been restored.

Everyone makes the trip to see the house where Home Alone took place. I visited the set when I was really young and was so surprised that the snow was fake. Very tragic for a child.

If you've seen Batman Begins, you will notice that the Chicago Board of Trade Building is "Wayne Enterprises."

Have you ever driven through Plano and been like...whoa..this really looks like Superman could live here? Well, that might be the case because many of the shots of Kansas in "Man of Steel" were actually filmed around Plano.

Speaking of scary movies, remember Nightmare on Elm Street? A real classic horror film. Many locations around Chicago were included in the movie. This cemetery is one of them.

So many great movies feature O'Hare--most famously, that scene in Home Alone where they are rushing to board the plane, but also in Sleepless in Seattle, and others.
