Every corner of Illinois is filled with incredible restaurants, diners, and hole-in-the-wall places where you can satisfy your hunger with a burger. And we can probably all agree that there’s nothing quite as perfect as the combination of a juicy burger and a side of crispy fries for lunch or dinner. However, if you add a boozy milkshake to wash it all down, your meal will be taken to the next level! Durty Gurt’s in Galena is a place where you can order it all – the burger, the fries, and the milkshake, with or without the booze. Not only that, but this restaurant has an ambiance like no other.
Durty Gurt's has been serving up delicious burgers in downtown Galena since 2007. This restaurant prides itself on offering the best burgers at reasonable prices.
When you walk through the door, you'll first notice the eclectic decor of all the signage, including a huge neon Durty Gurt's sign. The atmosphere is humorous, inviting, and fun!
The menu is filled with stick-to-your-ribs goodness between appetizers like Mac-N-Cheese Bites and Potstickers, choices of patty melts and sandwichs, and, of course, burgers!
Order a classic burger or one that's more gourmet such as the Tombstone Burger with bacon, barbecue sauce, cheese, lettuce, and tomato on a bun that's topped with onion rings.
Get ready for the Gurty's Show Stoppers, which are the special burgers on the menu. Pictured here is the Shut the Front Door, a half-pound burger topped with bacon and melted cheese. Instead of a bun, it's all sandwiched between two glazed doughnuts for something deliciously different.
As for the drinks, they are almost as exciting as the burgers. With numerous cocktails and specialty drinks from sangria, cherry limeade, and spiked lemonade to bloody marys, mules, and Durty Gurt's Rum Buckets, there's a beverage for just about any drinking-aged adult.
There are shakes and malts for everyone and boozy shakes for the 21-and-older crowd. Some of these alcohol-spiked shakes have flavors that will bring you back to your childhood.
The Cinnamon Toast Crunch will taste a bit like the cereal you grew up eating but this shake is made with vanilla ice cream, cinnamon sugar, and Rumchata, and topped with graham cracker. Yum!
Other thick boozy shakes include Orange Cream made with orange cream whiskey, Mudslide made with Kahlua, Root Beer Blast made with root beer Schnapps, and Peppermint Patty made with peppermint Schnapps.
