The Prairie State isn’t just flat land and cornfields like many people from other states believe. And while the state doesn’t have mountains, there are certain areas with unique rock formations in Illinois that will remind you of being in the mountains. If views and otherworldly rocks are what you’re after, a hike along the Garden of the Gods Observation Trail may be exactly what you need. It’s one of the greatest natural wonders in the US, after all!
