JRs Chicken in northeast Illinois is a popular eatery with two locations just south of Chicagoland. The original location opened in 1975, and both joints are still family-run to this day.
Locals enjoy eating in or taking their food to-go when they visit these old-school restaurants. The Kankakee location has a full-service bar while the Bourbonnais location offers counter service.

Family dinners come in six- to 30-piece meals with sauces, sides, soup, and rolls. Side options include onion rings, sweet potato fries and regular fries, fried green tomatoes, breaded okra, sweet corn nuggets, and so much more.
