There’s a rustic tavern in Yorkville, Illinois that is all about good food and friendly service. This little-known burger bar has some of the most unique toppings for your patty, and some even change seasonally. This down-home joint is totally worth the trip. Check it out:
Rowdy's in northern Illinois is a casual joint that's known for its wings, burgers, wide variety of beers, and special cocktails.
This bar is the perfect place to be to catch a game or watch the fish in the salt water tank. There are more than 50 beers available as well as wealth of specialty drinks.
Rowdy's took over what was formerly known as OJ's and expanded into the building next door. The expansion allowed for a rustic dining room that features televisions and fun decor.
There is also a game room at this burger bar with arcade machines as well as gambling machines near the bar. This is the perfect way to kill time while you wait for your food.
Speaking of which, the food is the main attraction at this joint. Most guests enjoy a half pound burger with special toppings like pulled pork, fried mac and cheese bites, beer-bettered jalapenos, fried eggs, Gouda, Parmesan, and more.
There are also seasonal burgers that rotate on and off the menu throughout the year, so there is always a reason to come back.
Additional menu items include sandwiches, wraps, salads, chicken strips, and appetizers like cheese curds, pretzel knots, nachos, and cheesy tater tots. On Sundays, between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. brunch items like biscuits and gravy, country fried steak bites, and breakfast burritos are available.
Also for brunch, guests can try one of Rowdy's famous bloody Marys. Each is garnished with stuffed olives, bacon, celery, venison, wings, a pickle, and your choice of an egg and cheese biscuit or chimi.
Rowdy’s is open Monday through Thursday between 9 a.m. and 1 a.m., Friday and Saturday between 9 a.m. and 2 a.m., and Sunday between 7 a.m. and midnight. The restaurant is located at 210 S Bridge St., Yorkville, IL 60560, and you can get more information on its website or Facebook page.
