The Sun Trail is accessible year-round and provides the perfect reason to get outdoors this spring. Locals in central Illinois love this beautiful bridge hike, and you're about to see why.
This path is very easy to traverse whether you are walking or running. Even dogs are allowed on this trail, as long as they are on a leash. Most of the path is gravel.
Spanning 1.9 miles, there are a couple bridges on this hike. The most notable is this unique structure. This adorable foot bridge crosses the Friends Creek and is one of the coolest bridges in the state.

The views along this path at Friends Creek Conservation Area are second to none. Other wonders include additional hiking trails, camping opportunities, pavilions, and more.
