I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
The small city of Alton is known for many things. Sitting along the Mighty Mississippi, it’s surrounded by gorgeous natural scenery with bluffs along the water. It is also known as the home of the world’s tallest man and mysterious attractions like the original Piasa bird mural and the haunted McPike Mansion. What Alton is also known for is its numerous antique shops. If you’re someone who enjoys antiquing, you need to make plans to come here.
Alton's historic downtown area is also known as "Antique Row." Featuring dozens of gift and specialty shops as well as over 15 antique stores, it's the perfect town to shop for one-of-a-kind items.
