Picture this. It’s a sunny day with clear, blue skies. You’re soaring over a beautiful wilderness area that’s covered in what seems to be an endless landscape of tree-covered hills. The fresh Idaho air is flowing through your hair. Sounds pretty heavenly, right? You can experience it for yourself when you go on a zip line tour with Zip Idaho. This epic zip line takes you right over one of the most stunning regions in the Gem State, and you definitely haven’t experienced anything like it before. Take a look!
Hiding in the small town of Horseshoe Bend is a company called Zip Idaho. If you've been itching for a unique adventure that is bound to be one for the books, then this is your place.
Located just a half hour north of Boise, Zip Idaho makes experiencing the natural beauty of southwestern Idaho easily accessible. After meeting in Horseshoe Bend, you'll be driven up to the zip line course which is located on the side of a mountain situated at roughly 5,000 feet in elevation.
The view is simply breathtaking. On a clear day, the sight of the Boise National Forest and the Payette River Valley seems to go on forever! It's one thing to see a picture of this view on social media, and another thing entirely to witness it for yourself.
The tour is perfect for zip liners of all skill levels. You'll start off the tour on the "Warm Up" line which is simply a mellow zip line about 200 feet long. After that, you'll continue onto the Wobbly Bridge—a 60-foot long suspension bridge that takes you to the next zip.
As you progress with the tour, the intensity level will slowly begin to build. The "Lovers Leap" is a 300-foot zip line that marks the place in the tour where your speed starts to get faster and faster.
After you've accomplished the smaller zips, you'll continue onto the main event of this epic tour: the "Turkey 2000". This is a 2,030-foot long zip line that they say will leave your "eyes watering and your adrenaline pumping". Thrill seekers are sure to be satisfied since you'll achieve speeds up to 50 miles per hour.
Next is the "Hang 'Em High". This is a side-by-side zip that clocks in at a little over 1,000-feet long. You and a friend will race to the bottom as you hang approximately 120-feet above the ground.
There is very little walking required on the tour and it usually takes around three hours to complete. This is by far one of the best and most rewarding zip line tours in the state, and it definitely belongs on your bucket list.
