Idaho is a diverse, unique state with many different weather patterns, landscapes, and opinions. That being said, that doesn’t mean that Idahoans don’t have some things in common. And even if you move away, you’ll still carry some habits from your homeland with you. If most of these things apply to you, there’s a good chance you grew up in the Gem State (or you’re an Idahoan at heart).
1. You've either been to, or been a part of, a small town parade that consists of 90% fire trucks and 10% horses.
As a child, you were just there for the candy.
2. You've been to a local rodeo.
3. You've driven over more than a few tumbleweeds in your day.
4. You knew everyone in your graduating class...
5. And probably did since Kindergarden.
6. You grew up playing hide-and-seek in neighboring cornfields...
7. ...And with dirty hands.
8. Your hometown's elevation was greater than its population.
9. The odor of skunk in the morning smells like home.
Country fresh air?
10. Our UFO sightings are actually just tractors havesting by the moonlight.
11. There were more kids in your car than there were stoplights on the way to church.
12. The sound of a dried leaf scuttling along the road in summer sounds a little too much like a rattlesnake.
13. You know every mountain in Idaho by name.
And can recognize each and every one... call it one of our super powers.
Growing up in Idaho has its perks!
