Idaho is full of unassuming restaurants. In fact, some of the tastiest food comes out of restaurants with rough-looking exteriors. When you’re younger, you’re told to never judge a book by it’s cover…and the same could be said for restaurants. The steakhouse featured here may not look like much. In fact, it doesn’t even really look like a restaurant. But hiding inside is some of the most finger-licking good food available in northern Idaho.
Wolf Lodge is located at 11741 E Frontage Rd in gorgeous Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

It's a little "rough around the edges," as they say. There isn't much from the exterior that lets people know it's a steakhouse. However, the Wolf Lodge has been a favorite among locals for decades.

The restaurant certainly has a unique character of its own which becomes apparent as soon as you step through the door.
Once inside, you're instantly transported to a Western style dining room where people come to eat, drink, and be merry.

A big part of the experience is the restaurant's rustic atmosphere which makes you feel like you've just stepped into the Wild West.
The vibe is warm and cozy. One of the famous features of the restaurant is the pit in the middle of the dining room, where you can watch your steaks being grilled up from your table!
However, it's the quality of the food that's been bringing people back to the restaurant for years. The steaks are the Wolf Lodge's crown jewel...and they're massive. You might just be comatose after consuming the 24 oz Porterhouse or the 16 oz Ribeye. Even the "Lil Dude" sirloin entree isn't so little at a sizable 10 ounces.
If you're not feeling like chowing down on beef, there are plenty of seafood options including shrimp, salmon, trout, and halibut entrees.
They even offer Rocky Mountain Oysters on their appetizer menu - a Northwest delicacy! If you don't know what they are, ask the server...
Their famous Bloody Mary is definitely not like anything you've seen before. The garnish to this beverage could be considered an appetizer in itself!
Wolf Lodge has been serving up delicious steaks and making people happy since the 1970s. Don't let the restaurant's exterior fool you, this is one of the most loved steakhouses in the state and is definitely worth the stop.
