We’ve seen Idaho restaurants located in some pretty unique settings, from the side of a mountain to the edge of a canyon. However, by far one of the most incredible restaurant locations we’ve come across is on top of a waterfall. Yes, you read that correctly. This humble little restaurant may look like a pretty typical roadside stop at first, but guests who eat here will find themselves in front of a stellar view of a neat waterfall that’s located right underneath the restaurant. It definitely makes for a unique place to enjoy a meal, so stop by and see this waterfall restaurant with your own eyes soon.
Hiding along the side of Idaho Highway 57 in Priest River is the humble restaurant known as the Falls Inn. The unassuming restaurant looks like a regular roadside stop, but its location makes it one of the most unique restaurants in the state.
Constructed right over the Lower West Branch River, guests at the Falls Inn will enjoy knowing that a river flows right beneath their feet! But that's not the restaurant's only impressive natural feature. The beautiful Torelle Falls is tucked away right underneath the restaurant, as well, and it's visible from the indoor dining room.
Dating back to the 1930s, this rustic restaurant was originally known as Garrigan's. Back in the day, the restaurant was located much closer to the highway. When the state started making road improvements in the 1960s, the restaurant relocated to the river bank where it remains to this day.
A stop at this restaurant is worth it for the incredible location alone. However, the friendly atmosphere and menu of wholesome meal options are also great reasons to stop by the famous Falls Inn, especially after a few hours on the road.
The restaurant is most famous for its super-sized sandwiches, decked out in delicious meats and piled high with veggies and cheese. It's the perfect thing after a day of adventuring around Priest River, especially when paired with a cold beer.
Alternatively, the pizza is also a great option. The Falls Inn specialty pizza is comprised of sausage, mushroom, olives, pineapple, and cashews. However, you can always build your own pizza or enjoy the simple pleasures of their fully-loaded cheese pizza.
A stop at the historic Falls Inn is a must when you find yourself in this neck of the woods. It's not every day you get to dine right over a flowing river and a gorgeous waterfall, so be sure to check this place out.
