When you think of the best place to order a juicy, delicious steak, does a truck stop come to mind? It should. Boise Stage Stop, located just off Highway 26 outside of Boise, is an old-fashioned, unassuming truck stop. From the outside, you may not be that impressed but once you try a bite of the food served here — particularly the steak — this will become your favorite roadside stop in Idaho.
Say hello to Boise Stage Stop. Originally known as the Regina Store, this building dates back to the early 1900s. This makes it one of the oldest ongoing businesses in Idaho.
As you step inside, you may think this is just your average truck stop. There are many trucker amenities and even a large store where you can find goods, gifts, and souvenirs.
However, inside you'll find quite a remarkable restaurant. Open from 5 a.m. to midnight, every single day, this restaurant serves many favorite dishes from breakfast to dinner.
However, many truckers and travelers stop for the steak. This restaurant serves a variety of cuts and each piece of meat is cooked in an infrared oven to perfection.
Enjoy a New York steak, rib eye, or even top sirloin and shrimp. All dinner sides are served with your choice of a baked potato, mashed potatoes, French fries, or rice.
During your visit, make sure to sit down, relax, and stay for a while. This restaurant is large with plenty of seats. It is also open seating, so you are welcome to choose where you sit.
