When you’re in Idaho, you’re never far from a gorgeous hike. Steps from Coeur d’Alene, you can experience some of the state’s prettiest scenery. Tubbs Hill is a looped hiking trail that is easy for hikers of all ages and it offers some dramatic and unforgettable vistas. Here’s what you need to know to make tracks to the Tubbs Hill trail.
The two-mile trail is located just south of Coeur d'Alene. It’s possible to hike to the trail from downtown – it’s one of the easiest scenic hikes you’ll find in this state.
It’s also very beautiful. Tubbs Hill is surrounded on three sides by Lake Coeur d'Alene Lake, a 25-mile-long, natural dam-controlled lake. It will be a constant companion on your hike
The trail has some rocks and roots, so it’s not considered wheelchair accessible. It is a pretty easy hike though, with many smooth and well-traveled stretches.
You can complete this hike in less than an hour, but you may want to allow extra time to explore all the little beaches and overlooks that you’ll pass in this 165-acre natural area.
The entrance to Tubbs Hill is located at 210 South 3rd Street. You can bring your dog on the hike, but be sure to use a leash. Trail brochures are available at the Coeur d’Alene Parks Department office. If you enjoy hikes that offer spectacular sights, here’s another hike that will take you to somewhere magical.
