Thankfully, there are multitudes of ways to discover the beauty of our forests. These six treetop adventures let you do just that. 1. Go for a ride on a mountain roller coaster.
Bogus Basin Ski Resort in Boise just constructed a mountain roller coaster and opened it to the public last year. If you haven't taken a ride yet on this thrilling coaster, then you need to plan a trip ASAP. Spanning a whopping 4,330 feet while winding its way through the forest and mountains, you can reach an enjoyable speed of 25 mph. 2. Partake in a canopy walk above the trees.
Located in Coeur d'Alene, Timberline Adventures offers guests a truly unique experience unlike any other. If you have a fear of heights, you may want to stay away. 3. Try out the country's longest gondola ride.
Did you know the longest and most scenic gondola ride in North America can be found right here in Idaho? Silver Mountain Resort is located in Kellogg and is home to one of the most amazing gondola rides in the country. 4. Sleep in an actual treehouse.
This place is far from the treehouse from your childhood. Trust us. Located on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille, you can actually rent this multi-level treehouse for your next remote getaway. 5. Go zip lining high above the forest.
Tucked away in the dense wilderness of Idaho's panhandle is a company called Silver Streak Zipline Tours. 6. Check out a 3,000 year old cedar tree.
Although this might not be a tree
top adventure per se, it's still a sight that is worth seeing! At over 3,000 years old, this old cedar tree is older than most countries. It's even considered the largest tree in North America outside the Cascades. You'll find this enormous cedar in the small town of Elk River. This is something you'll definitely want to see in-person.
