Ever since it opened its doors in 1973, the Museum of North Idaho has worked to celebrate, preserve, and share the unique heritage of the Coeur d'Alene region.
The museum boasts a wide range of fascinating permanent exhibits, but the Living History Walking Tours are an especially unique experience that will show you North Idaho history like never before. These tours are only offered in the summertime from around mid-June to mid-October.
The 1.5-hour walking tour departs from the Museum of North Idaho twice a day throughout the summer months, at 11:00 a.m. for Old Fort Sherman and 1:30 p.m. for downtown Coeur d'Alene.
The walking tour is a great way to stretch your legs while taking in the sights that beautiful Coeur d'Alene has to offer. However, the historical element these tours bring to the bustling city makes it a truly unique experience you're bound to remember.
The tours are led by Robert Singletary, the in-resident historian and Program Director for the museum. Singletary is known for going above and beyond on this awesome experience by embodying historic characters like Steamboat Captain Peter Sorensen or Fort Sherman General William Carlin.
