Fall in Idaho means heading outdoors while the weather is cool and enjoying the state’s natural beauty. While there are always fall hikes and scenic drives that can surround you with vibrant fall foliage, one of our favorite activities is high above the ground on the best zipline adventure in Idaho.
Tamarack Resort, just south of McCall, offers an extraordinary fall zipline adventure. You will soar down more than 3,500 feet of cable high above the trees to view the fall foliage from an entirely new perspective!
This zipline tour features eight ziplines and two suspension bridges. In some areas, you’ll be more than 100 feet above the ground – it truly is a heart-racing adventure with the most beautiful scenery surrounding you.
While you will admire the fall foliage during your zipline tour, you will also capture views of Lake Cascade, various mountain peaks, and the nearby valleys. It's incredible.
You’ll want to wear sturdy hiking shoes on this tour because between the various zipline platforms, you will hike a total of 1.5 miles. But this will give you a chance to view the fall colors from below and above — there’s nothing quite like it!
The zipline tours are limited to eight guests. For larger groups, you’ll want to plan at least four hours to complete the tour, while smaller groups may only take up to two hours.
No zipline experience is necessary for these tours — just a desire for adventure! You will receive a full orientation before heading out, and a guide will lead you through each zipline.
For this adventure, all you need to bring are sturdy hiking shoes. It is also recommended to bring a small backpack with a light jacket as the weather can change quickly at such a high elevation during this time of year. All safety equipment will be provided to you.
Four tours are offered each day, and you’ll want to book your tour in advance. These tours run until the middle of October, so you will not want to wait for an unforgettable — and heart-racing — fall adventure in Idaho!
Have you ever experienced the rush of the Tamarack Resort’s zipline? If so, what was your experience like? We’d love to hear all about your fall adventure in the comments! You can learn more and book your tour on the Tamarack Resort’s website.
Not only is the zipline at Tamarack Resort the perfect fall day trip in Idaho, but the small town of McCall is the perfect fall getaway! This small town is a playground for outdoor lovers, especially when the leaves begin to change!
