There’s no denying the inspiring beauty that New York’s Statue of Liberty holds. The iconic monument is one that most travelers make a point to visit at least once in their lifetime – a landmark known throughout the world not just for its appearance and size, but for what it symbolizes: safety, refuge, and opportunity. Unfortunately for all of us living all the way over here in Idaho, it’s not particularly easy to make the lengthy journey to this well-known destination!
But did you know that you don’t have to make a cross-country trip to see this monumental beauty? Giving you the next best thing, Bonner County features its own version of this one-of-a-kind attraction that has a sweet and simple history.
The jewel of Sandpoint, "America's Most Beautiful Small Town," City Beach is known by many as Idaho's own inland Pacific Coast.
As the state's largest and deepest lake (and the 5th deepest in the country), there's a reason why oceanic naval testing is done on the north end of this Idaho treasure. It literally is a miniature Pacific!

Here, you'll find Idaho's own Statue of Liberty, standing tall and proud on Liberty Pier.
For years, Idaho's Lady Liberty stood in the private garden of Ms. Turner. After her death, her family gave the statue to the city. "Lee" Turner owned the Cowgirl Corral in Ponderay and the Captain’s Table in Bayview. Since then, the tribute has become a focal point of City Beach.
She sits at the far end of Sandpoint's City Beach Park, where she ushers in boaters, swimmers, lake cruisers, and glorious Pend Oreille sunsets.
