Springtime In Idaho

What are some of the best hikes in Idaho in the spring?
There are many Idaho spring hikes to discover all across the state. Here are some of our favorite places to get outside and enjoy nature and some of the best hikes in Idaho in the spring:

  • Hike to Goldbug Hot Springs, Salmon, ID: Imagine hiking in the Salmon National Forest surrounded by rocky mountains as the cool spring air sends a little shiver down your spine. The chill in the air will soon be offset by a glorious dip in a hot spring. The hike to these natural hot springs is about 3.5 miles over some rocky rough terrain, but when you sink into the warm water the hike will have been well worth the extra effort.
  • Camel's Back Trails Loop, Boise, ID: The Camel’s Back and Hulls Gulch Reserve is another beautiful area of Idaho. This is an easy-to-follow 1.7-mile loop trail that has a few challenging areas such as the long flight of stairs that leads to a wonderful scenic lookout. Enjoy plenty of spring wildflowers and stunning views of Treasure Valley. To avoid the crowds, make sure you get an early start.
  • Stanley Hot Springs Trail, Kooskia, ID: Most of the hot springs in Idaho are located in the central or southern part of the state, but this unique gem is one of the few in North Idaho. The Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest is an absolutely beautiful area with gently flowing streams, tall forests, and stunning mountain views. To get to the series of hot spring pools you'll have to work for it - the trail is about nine miles and you'll have to cross Boulder Creek without a bridge. Keep an eye out for fallen logs to scurry over.
