If you are like me, there is no better way to spend a winter day in Idaho than on a snow tube. While there are snow tubing lanes all over the Gem State, tucked away in the small town of Iona is one that all southeastern Idaho residents need to check out. Known as the Idaho Falls Snow Park, this is the largest snow park in the Idaho Falls area. With groomed trails, a magic carpet, and frequent food vendors, this is a winter day trip destination that you are going to love.
This snow park is 42 acres of pure fun. There are a variety of run sizes so every member of the family can find a tubing lane that is just right for them.
Even better, there is no need to hike back up the hill once your ride is over. The magic carpet pulls you up, allowing you to easily soar down each lane over and over again.
When visiting Idaho Falls Snow Park, you must choose between a morning session (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) and an afternoon session (1 p.m. to 5 p.m.). All-day tickets are available. It is strongly recommended to purchase tickets online and in advance as tubes are limited for each time slot.
And, after soaring down the hill, you can then play in the natural snow areas and build a snowman. Keep in mind that this park makes snow for the tubing runs but relies on natural snow for the play areas.
On certain days, you may even see food trucks and other vendors at the park as well. It’s a winter day trip destination in southeastern Idaho that will make you love this chilly time of the year.
