Ocean beaches are great and all, but they’ve got nothin’ on lake beaches—at least, that’s our humble opinion. Idaho is home to hundreds of fantastic lakes and many of them make for great beach day destinations. In fact, central Idaho’s Redfish Lake is a long-beloved summer destination for Gem State residents, as it boasts some downright stunning beaches. One of these beaches is Orval Hansen Point Beach and we just can’t get over its incredible alpine beauty. Plan a visit to this scenic beach and you may find that you just can’t bring yourself to leave its sandy white shoreline.

Situated right behind the beach is Point Campground, a tent-only campground that's considered one of the best in the area for its serene setting and convenient beach access. Reservations can be made on the Forest Service website for May through September.
