Here at OnlyInYourState, we love a good hike. However, we REALLY love a good waterfall hike. In the Gem State, there are several waterfall hikes that the entire family will love. One of our favorites is Ross Falls, one of the most underrated waterfalls in Idaho. To reach this beautiful waterfall, you must conquer a short hiking trail that is almost like it came out of a fairy tale. It’s one hiking trail in Idaho that you will regret not exploring.
The Ross Falls Trail can be found in southern Idaho, south of the small town of Hansen and in the South Hills. You can find the trailhead off of Rock Creek Road, north of the Magic Mountain Ski Area.
Ross Falls is one of the most kid-friendly waterfalls hikes in Idaho. It is a 0.4-mile, out-and-back trail, making it the perfect distance for even young children.
And in no time at all, you will come to Ross Falls. You’ll know you are close as you can catch glimpses of the falls in the distance and you will begin to hear the sound of falling water.
Get up close and just admire the beauty of this waterfall and the surrounding landscapes. This impressive 40-foot waterfall is gorgeous any time of the year and the whole area is truly stunning.
Unfortunately, the area surrounding this waterfall is often hit with graffiti. Please be respectful and leave this hiking trail and waterfall better than when you found it.
The Ross Falls Trail is one waterfall hike in Idaho that you’ll want to add to your bucket list. Have you ever explored this short trail? What did you think of the falls? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
