This New Year’s Eve event is unlike any other in the entire country, and there is no better way to bring in a new year than at this one-of-a-kind event in Idaho. You’ll welcome in the new year with potatoes, music, friends, and so much more. It’s one night that you won’t forget.

The Annual Idaho Potato Drop first started in 2013. Over the years, it has grown, and thousands participate in this New Year’s Eve celebration in Idaho each year.

So, what makes this event unique and so one-of-a-kind? Well, at midnight, a 17-foot-long potato is dropped in downtown Boise in front of the State Capitol Building. This potato is lit up and is quite the sight to see.

However, before the countdown and the giant potato is dropped, the night will be packed with festivities.

There are vendors you can shop at throughout the night. Come with a hefty appetite as there will be many food trucks parked at the event.
